This is the time
For transformation
Tragedy has torn me apart
Along the way
I’ve lost pieces of myself
Yet, here I am
With the opportunity to be
Exactly who I was always
Meant to be
I appreciate life
Because it has changed me
And gotten me
To where I am today
So that even though
A part of me has been taken
I can, once again,
Be whole
As an accumulation
Of the lessons I’ve learned
And the truths
Which are now a part of me
As I emerge
From the dusk
