When I left, I had hoped that I was leaving forever. I felt guilty, but I shouldn’t have. I was going to start my life on my own terms. One was happy for me. She hoped that I would be able to do what she hadn’t had the courage to do. The other was angry that I had abandoned her and taken an unfamiliar path. They both did everything out of love.
